I used to live in the Philippines, and many many things they use over there are American made/compatible with everything American. The only problem is is that a lot of people don't have DVD players; VCD players (lower quality than DVD players) are much more common than DVDs.

However, on a DVD player, it may not work unless they had an advanced DVD player where they could control such settings
