MDR asked:

I am trying to burn a DVD (photo slideshow with video) on my computer and then watch it on my home DVD player. I have Windows DVD maker and Roxcio DVD creator. Can anybody tell me how to do this? I can play it back on any computer but not at home.

It may be that your DVD player is not capable of playing DVD-RW or DVD-R formats. You might want to check your owner’s manual or consult the manufacturer’s website. Or look on the front of your DVD player. Mine specifically says what formats it can play, although I’m sure that such labeling can vary from manufacturer to manufacturer.

If yours doesn’t play those formats, the good news is that DVD players are cheaper than they used to be. You can get a decent Sony player for seventy or eighty bucks. I would avoid the $30 dollar store brand players, however. I’ve read some unfavorable reviews, and some of those players lack features that you will probably want.

try using different brands of dvd blanks. it could be that the one you’re using now is not compatible with your home dvd player.
