It may be that your DVD player is not capable of playing DVD-RW or DVD-R formats.  You might want to check your owner&#039;s manual or consult the manufacturer&#039;s website. Or look on the front of your DVD player.  Mine specifically says what formats it can play, although I&#039;m sure that such labeling can vary from manufacturer to manufacturer.

If yours doesn&#039;t play those formats, the good news is that DVD players are cheaper than they used to be.  You can get a decent  Sony player for seventy or eighty bucks.  I would avoid the $30 dollar store brand players, however.  I&#039;ve read some unfavorable reviews, and some of those players lack features that you will probably want.</description>
