I want to be able to play it back on my dvd player.. idk if that changes anything
I don’t have the manual for either but on the side of my computer it says DVD R/RW and i have a sony dvd player that doesn’t say anything about it on it.

You read its manual to find what format it supports.

It should also have the appropriate logo on the front for the + or – format.
